ASSOCIATION FOR BAPTISM REMOVAL

A PRESENTATION

First of all, let's underline that ADB doesn't administer the deletion of baptism. Had it done so it would, like a church, have the task to oint its members, cleanse their front from water and cast salt on them to ensure their affiliation to such or the other church.

Conversely, ABR is born out of the knowledge that every human being is his/her own master, and therefore it is in her/his power to reject whatever act of incorporation into any faith or religion trying to bind him/her for eternity.

ADB is formed among men and women free from religion, that support each other mutually in the midst of a society that in thousand ways outrages their need to assert liberation from religion and the refusal of any initiating rite, in full persuasion that reason, feeling, joy of life must and can be the counterpoint to their own life.

Collective protection that ABR ensures is extended also to one of the delicate passages in life - transit towards death. In order to look about those practices or behaviors tending to deny consistence or beliefs in which the associate kept during his/her life, in moments of reduced self-conscience or of prevailing will of survivors.

But ABR is more than that. Like all social gatherings where the personality of the citizen develops and is realized, it promotes and fosters consciousness of freedom from religion; takes steps, encourages discussion, stimulates knowledge and confrontation, fights for tolerance in religious behavior; demands to all creeds, in the name of liberty of thought, to renounce to all forms of totalitarian overriding.

Therefore, all that wish so, can claim deletion of baptism or feel exempt from affiliation o pertaining to whatever religion. ABR will simply confirm this self-declaration, stating the member's will, testifying it.

But the declaration to renounce baptism, its notice to church authorities, also presents civil juridical results because through it the member is free from any juridical commitment towards the sect it used to belong to. (...)

The Italian state assumes that all its subjects are catholic believers, or in any case affiliated to this creed for having received baptism - notifying the request for deletion of baptism is an active testimony. It's a response to indifference in religious matters with active refusal of all sectarianism.

The siege of the Association is in: via Garibaldi 47 - 61032 FANO (Pesaro) - Italia. Tel.: ....0347/3517897.
